If the TV and film industry isn’t including disabled people (seen and invisible disabilities) either behind or in front of the camera, then we’re not truly ‘holding a mirror up to society.’ Representation matters. We can and must do better. #ScriptSkyUK #ScriptSky

Children accounted for the biggest rise of any social group falling into poverty a shocking new report has found - a record 36%, or 5.2 million children are now in deprivation

Child poverty should be the national conversation right now
🚨Millions of people in this country are living in poverty, destitution & using food banks. It’s barely getting a mention.

I’m joining forces with @bigissue.bsky.social in calling for a POVERTY ZERO LAW - a statutory duty for every gov’t to set POVERTY REDUCTION TARGETS

Oh, I just love floating around in this BlueSky. There are so many lovely people, and I am drifting between old behind-the-scenes movie interviews and new book recommendations. I've missed this kind of space.

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky
