For @thefence.bsky.social I'm collecting EXTREMELY PETTY MONEY SAVING TIPS for the coming recession, eg using white bread instead of pencil erasers or buying a 1981 calendar for 2026 because the days will line up. If any of you can beat this absurdly niche example I've just been sent, I'm all ears.

In 2018, I sat down on a doorstep beside two rough sleepers & recorded their lives. The R4 series Tara & George asked what led the couple to the streets. Last autumn, I was contacted by Tara’s brother, Shaun. She’s dead. Sun 16 Feb on BBC Radio 4 at 715pm & BBC Sounds. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m...

Audrey Gillan's original documentary series on Tara and George was amazing - made with such tenacity and compassion. I don't doubt this follow-up, produced in the wake of Tara's death, will be equally brilliant though sad. On R4 tomorrow at 7.15pm.
