I guess States' Rights as a thing conservatives putatively believe in is well and truly dead now?

I guess now that they don't have to hide the fact that it is now and always has been about white supremacy, there's no point in maintaining the fig leaf.

What's your favorite video game that's at least 27 years old (so 1999 or earlier)? Let's get a list of classics going.

If I'm picking just one, it's Pitfall!

Please quote this with your most minor celebrity interaction.

Bryan Batt once handed me back my hat, which had fallen off the back of my chair while I was eating at the Gumbo House in New Orleans.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

Calling out a fascist for taking a hypocritical position is easy. It's also a complete waste of time. Fascist rhetoric is aesthetics— pathos, never logos.

You'll never get anywhere pointing out a fascist's hypocrisy. Fascism is not to be debated, it's to be smashed. Get comfortable using power.

Listening to Leonard Cohen seems like a good way to close out Christmas.

Finished my annual re-read of "Chip Crockett's Christmas Special" by Elizabeth Hand. I recommend it to everyone. May Sandy Becker and Joey Ramone rest in peace.

This is basic, Sunday-school theology. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to align with the Christian Nationalist theology that has overtaken the American conservative movement.

If you read the red words, it is all right there.
Pope Leo said in a Christmas Eve sermon that the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God himself. For @reuters.com

So that was cool. One of the other residents at my parents' retirement home gave a talk today about what being at Pearl Harbor was like. At the time she was 18 and husband-hunting. She eventually landed Ken Taylor, who had become, with his buddy George Welch, rather famous for what they did.
