BREAKING: High exposure to lead — especially from leaded gas pollution — in the 1960s and 1970s is linked to memory problems 50 years later, and even low levels of lead exposure may damage the adult brain, according to new studies presented at #AAIC25. bit.ly/3GM3GnD

I talked about social media manipulation—how information is amplified or suppressed, targeted toward individuals through blackbox algorithms that make old style propaganda look like crayon scribbles—during the plenary session of a recent conference and the LOOKS of SHOCK on people’s faces
I think we downplay the role of social media algorithms and targeted disinformation campaigns in drawing voters to Trump and away from Democrats at our own risk — it’s frankly a refusal to reckon with reality. Social media has created a matrix-like info control environment.

They’re forcing down junk science on us with your tax dollars. This is a deep shame for America and for scientists everywhere.

This will create “a distorted research ecosystem where only politically favorable findings are permitted to exist”, researcher Harry Barbee says.
