I saw Olivia Chow wearing a neoprene mask (with breathing vents so you don't fog up your glasses when you bike in the winter), so I bought a neoprene mask

This video is for Doug Ford, and all those in my replies saying bike lanes "stop emergency vehicles from getting to their destination". They *allow* emergency vehicles to get to their destination, as seen here on Adelaide. They were designed with emergency services in mind.

As per @joelharden.bsky.social's newsletter. The province is retaining it's own contractors and plan to undertake first bike lane removals by the end of the year. Bloor St. in Etobicoke and a section of Yonge St. are the first in the crosshairs.

Did some visualizing StatsCan's data around mode of transportation for commuting, because cyclists being only 1.9% of commuters in a city as big & diverse as Toronto is way too simplistic.

Someone should make Before Sunrise but on a VIA to romanticize intercity train travel for Canadians
The fact that 98% of Americans have never been on an intercity train says a ton about why so many folks think high-speed trains are a waste of money. They've never experienced the joy and simplicity of going from one city center to another one 200 mi away in two hrs. They have no frame of reference.

Thinking of starting a bit wherein I praise Ford's $200 cheques to everyone as the beginnings of a Universal Basic Income

Don't know if this is the right read, but Bill 212 specifically talks about "bicycle lanes." Does this mean that it doesn't apply to multi-use trails? Can the City go around installing multi-use trails where it would've installed a bike lane without falling under the legislation's purview?

The goal should be to help US facilities move upstream towards higher-end, sometimes custom-made goods with quick turnarounds. Not raise the cost of their inputs, which will make them less competitive on the global market and possibly start a trade war.

The supplementary report on Doug Ford's bike lane ban bill is now available. City staff say it could cost $48 million in provincial tax money to remove bike lanes. And city would lose out on $27 million invested to install the infrastructure. www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis... (PDF)
