Just want to point out its actually worse then said here, the thing you get is the Arte Sphere which in this gives the controlled character extra arte slots, actual shortcuts where you can also assign the artes of other party members to tell them to use them just flat out do not exist in Arise.
people are (rightfully) dunking on this game for a lot of reasons but I haven't seen anyone mention that THEY WAIT FIFTEEN WHOLE IN GAME HOURS to trust the player with COMBAT SHORTCUTS

Just want to point out its actually worse then said here, the thing you get is the Arte Sphere which in this gives the controlled character extra arte slots, actual shortcuts where you can also assign the artes of other party members to tell them to use them just flat out do not exist in Arise.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, though for clarification its specifically because I bought it as my first KH game and it really does not make for a good introduction to the series.

I think the issue with the whole chronological order vs release order playing order for series where it matters in terms of story (MGS, KH, most serialized RPG series, etc.) is that I can’t think of a single example where playing chronologically is a better experience over playing in release order

Now with this Switch 2 port people are able to experiance such writing as "Genocide survivors shouldn't be too angry in their fight against oppressors" and "The leaders of colonial slave states are people too" while fighting the most uninteractive brick walls all on the go.
