I'll save you reading The Guardian. "IT'S ALL RACHEL'S FAULT. SHE'S RUINED THIS ONCE COSY SHOW. FOR REASONS."
I am shocked — shocked — that The Traitors’ huge success has been followed by takedown pieces. Shocked, I tell you.

@katdoesmaths.bsky.social Hi Kat 👋 I found you after listening to the More or Less piece about The Traitors.
I got here via your website, but just wanted to note that your Bluesky profile link is invalid. Found you anyway!

It's always confused me why Windows, MacOS, etc., all come bundled with stock apps. It must be a US obsession - I'm very sure the majority of people in the UK don't get two hoots about the stock price of businesses.
Also new in v1.114 today: cashtags! Like hashtags, but for stocks.

And their website has fuck-it-i-am-not-staying energy thanks to the ads. Totally unreadable.

Sam Rockwell stars as a wild-eyed time traveller warning of an A.I. apocalypse in Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die.

The actor was cast because he matched the film's “fuck-it energy,” according to director Gore Verbinski.

Maybe it's just me, but I can't get an angry at someone from clearing a snowman from... checks notes... the middle of a pavement. I'd have done the same.

Fury as ‘miserable git’ destroys five-year-old’s snowman with shovel
A five-year-old boy was left heartbroken after a “miserable git” neighbour savagely destroyed his snowman. The grumpy pensioner who lives next door was caught on camera hacking the four…

There are few quotes in life that I re-use, but this one from @heritage.bsky.social is an exception. One for the ages and great for setting New Year's Resolutions (can anybody send this to The Whitehouse?)

Best not used in a church sermon though.

Hey Retailers. Please add a "no I don't want to review you, or the product I bought from you as it was a Christmas gift for someone else. Stop f***ing sending me an email reminder about it every day" option to your site.

Thank you.
Signed, all your customers

The UK right are apoplectic when they think Tesco aren't putting the word "Christmas" on their Christmas trees.

Currys is literally saying "forget Christmas, it's Giftmas" in their adverts and there's nothing.

It's almost like it's engineered rage that makes zero sense.

New blog post: Returning to WordPress core contributing. Aka "Wot I did in WordPress 6.9"
Returning to core contributing
With the release of WordPress 6.9, I’m finally returning to the contributing to core. The last time was WordPress 6.5 (I’m genuinely not sure what I did for that one – it certainly wasn’t code related!) and, previous to that, 5.8, which was over 4 years ago. And this contribution has been quite the journey.
