Couldn't you say the same for a mobile app? Why not just use the mobile browser? After all, it leads to better performance and better designed UI.

A lot now let you just leave it in your bag, but some will make you take them out - liquids have to be under 100ml in anything you carry through and in a plastic bag.

Once that's done, head for security. Again, depending on airport, depends on what checks they do. It may be worth checking in advance with the airport website, as to what they want in regard to electronics and liquids.

To make things easier check-in online. Depending on airport and airline, you may be able to self check in the luggage. Or you'll need to queue and have it checked in for you.
