1. Channing and Kirsten are right, and 2. ROOFMAN is great, and I wish more people had seen it in theaters.
I recently got to spend five minutes talking with Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst about the movie ROOFMAN, and I wrote up those five minutes as a print piece because I really needed everyone to know what movie Mr. Tatum was recommending to people in 2022. consequence.net/2025/12/chan...

Still catching up on 2025 films, but in the meantime, want to give a shoutout to things I’ve enjoyed this year, 2025 and otherwise

While based on a 1991 novel, NightScream (1997) seems to be in communication with and cashing in on the cultural currency of Twin Peaks, specifically Invitation to Love

Please don’t forget that today is World AIDS Day! The current administration refuses to acknowledge this day but we will not forget! Everytime I think about how we lost a generation of people who died so young I get so sad! But today we honor and remember EVERYONE ❤️

Related: I can’t believe she’s seen Pearl, but I sneaked into Don’t Look Now when I was 14 and I turned out OK. I tell her: “I insist that you sneak R-rated movies behind my back, it’s the only way you’ll truly appreciate them.”

Shhhhh, don’t tell the kid that while I pretended to be wildly indifferent to A24’s Christmas decorations, I had already ordered the Midsommar tree topper. (She wanted Pearl, but I got the Pearl ornament set instead.)
Waiting to see how long it takes her to notice it’s replaced our usual topper.

In what was perhaps the most CF&M coded type of day, it is Candy Darling’s birthday and the anniversary of the release date of George Stevens’ Giant, the last of James Dean’s screen performances which also served as inspiration for Come Back to the 5 & Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean.
If you saw the Instagram clip TCM posted with me talking to Dave Karger, you probably noticed I had on a yellow T-shirt. This was my James Dean T-shirt I bought off eBay. I wore it for good luck.

we should keep trans icon ozma safe from the very bad filmmakers who would try to capitalize on making more oz content
I'm honestly surprised that with all this renewed interest in the Wizard of Oz that nobody's tried to do a thing with Ozma recently, but I guess studios just assume mainstream audiences are only familiar with things from the 1939 movie

Udo took a chance on my rinky-dink festival in Vancouver back in 2000 - he went on TV interviews with me, carried 35mm film prints up stairs, went to get me coffee and even live-dubbed Giancarlo Giannini's voice when BLACK BELLY OF THE TARANTULA showed up without subs. RIP Udo, you were a star 🌟
