Co-creating the conditions for culture change through deep deschooling & decolonising; transformational governance, self-directed education, commoning, generative approaches to conflict. Also sometimes very silly on stage. Bristol, UK.

“This is a horrifying litany of war crimes and even crimes against humanity, all of our own doing. … It is human societies, not governments alone, that commit crimes against humanity. … We cannot claim that we did not know. We have been silent for too long.”

Standardised testing plus removal of social safety nets is a eugenics project. School is driving authoritarianism and making people think it is both necessary and inevitable.

The last year and a half in Gaza is a strong enough reason to dismantle the entire US-led western empire. The Gaza holocaust could end tomorrow and it would still be reason enough. All the empire's other worldwide abuses could have never happened and it'd still be reason enough.

Schooling is a governance issue because that’s where we come to understand our culture. For most of us that’s where we learn that authoritarianism is the only possible “natural” way of organising and that people must be controlled for anything worthwhile to happen.

How will young people learn about the things they don’t find easy or interesting? Ha! They ask for it. This group of 10-14 year olds asked me to plan a geometry session for them BECAUSE they don’t like it. They do algebra, for example, on their own for fun. Self-directed education FTW!

Today my teenager got up when she was rested, tidied her room, independently studied what she felt was necessary for her chosen path, cooked when she was hungry, went to the loo as needed, hung out with friend, read a book with me in a shady hammock. Life without school is infinitely better.

At this juncture I’d like to point out:
* we’re on the brink of a golden age of medical healing
* there’s enough money in the world to solve every problem in the world
* a united approach could stop the climate crisis
But a small group of sociopaths seeking personal power are going to throw it away.

Just a reminder that no state - not Israel, not the United States, not Russia, not China, not ANY state - has a right to exist.

People have rights to exist. But states and governments are legal fictions. As such, their "right" to exist persists only insofar as they serve the people.
