Happy Jesus's birthday, Bluesky.
Whether you celebrate Christmas, don't celebrate Christmas, or hate it with a passion (which is ok too), may your day be merry and bright 😊

I find it funny when ai bros accuse real artists/writers/etc of thinking they’re better than those who use gen/ai because, for once, they’re actually right.

I do think I’m better than ai bros, and I think other artists should feel the same way.

the beginning is the most important bc if it isn't good enough, reader might not keep going
the middle is most important bc beginnings are just all potential but the middle is what actually makes a story
the end is most important bc a great one is what's gonna elevate a good story to an all-timer

Alchemised by SenLinYu isn't the best book I've read in 2025, but I suspect it will be the most memorable.
Not many novels inspire me to write an analysis immediately after I've finished them...

The awards season: a guide.

Category 1 - operated by a publication/corporation.
Corrupt.

Category 2 - a public vote.
Treat with extreme caution [see: current world leaders].

Category 3 - a random person online.
An opinion, not worth more than anyone else's.

Hope this helps

Thanks Amazon for ruining the experience of watching Atlanta – 3 ad breaks in 21 minutes, mixed in with the fake satirical ad breaks of the show.
They aren't persuading me to pay to go without ads; they're persuading me to switch off completely.

Plotting a novel is a fantastic exercise in creativity. Seeing a problem, coming up with a clever (and surprising) solution, and realizing you've set yourself up for something cool as hell.

Makes me excited to get into the meat of actually writing it.
