I did the EES registration at Geneva today. It takes quite a bit longer than the 45s that Eurotunnel are budgeting for.

It's not so clear which way the passport goes in and your right hand fingers have to be quite precisely positioned for the finger scan to work. The photo of your face works fine.

Has anyone started a UK Government petition asking Starmer to block the King's visit for the semiquincentennial celebrations in USA given his disrespectful comments about NATO soldiers and threats to Canada where he's also head of state?

All NATO countries should boycott the World Cup, especially since any of their non-white players could face deadly risks from ICE.

It's so exhausting to to be constantly told by American leaders that the defining policy of the 80 odd years during which the US became the most wealthy and powerful country in the history of the world was a grossly unfair failure for them.
US trade secretary Howard Lutnick really not mincing his words here at Davos: "We are here to make a v clear point: globalisation has failed the West and the USA. It's a failed policy. It's what the WEF has stood for, which is, export, offshore, find the cheapest labour in the world."

Given the chaos the Trump regime is trying to create it's quite unbelievable that the UK parliament invited Johnson to speak.
Left: Mike Johnson, Speaker of the House, talking about liberty and freedom in the US in the UK parliament

Right: ICE agents attacking a dancing fox

Thanks to child v2.0 passing his driving test last week, today marks the first time in six years I haven’t had to drive one of them to catch the bus to college in Cambridge from Cambourne.

It’s such a relief not to have to depend on the incredibly unreliable Whippet and Stagecoach buses anymore!

@iansollom.bsky.social Reuters are reporting that Mike Johnson will be the first US House speaker to address British Parliament on January 20.

I trust you will do everything possible to oppose this. It's utterly unacceptable to have representatives of Trumps Republicans speaking in Parliament.

There's zero chance that Starmer's Labour can understand the economic harm Brexit is causing.

They are a bunch of dull ex-civil servants and union people who are incapable of understanding what businesses need to grow.

I remain convinced that transport policy will never change unless decision makers are required to actually use the systems they decide upon.

If they had to actually use PT themselves, I'm sure you'd see significant improvement overnight.

@steverichards.bsky.social On Starmer - he's a manager not a leader.

I put this list together years ago from a business perspective, but it perfectly captures the problem of having a manager when what you really need is a leader.
