I try not to promulgate in any overt manner, but just to be clear we are taking Students and/or Probationers, should you find yourself interested in the material of Thelema in general, or what we post about here in particular. DMs are always open.

I'm now seeing a line in Plotinus where — having said that the mode and place of the gods is filled with beauty — he then writes (referring to the One as the Good):

"That which is beyond this we call the nature of the Good, which holds beauty as a screen before it." (1.6.9)

Peak pandemic facilitated the completion of a lot of Tantra translation & commentary which means this one flew under my radar. Gonna have to give it a spin.

I read Illuminatus! by Robert Anton Wilson when I was like 14 and I’ve been living the world presented there ever since.

Quite unintentionally, I might add.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

I want to talk about this because others noted weirdness and I just got word of more info from those closer to the center of the drama. Truth matters and here is no exception.

This is a hoax/hitpiece run by a dipshit named Harris who is very well known in the community for his antics.

I challenge everyone doing this shit to show me one (1) searchable/cite-able example of the man or anyone in his immediate circle having familiarity with literally any esoteric concept in the whole of the “western” tradition.
They just won't stop.

You have my assurance that I’ll never do something as debased as ask for cash in exchange for instruction.

I ask for something far more insidious and transgressive: That you fucking read and implement the goddamn reading.

I love the way outsiders talk about sex magick in Thelema like it's a bad thing. Jack Parsons yanked it on a bunch of talismans? Hell yeah he did. We believe the conscious mind is blotted out in the moment of orgasm? Sounds like you've never had one.

The obeah AND the wanga? In this economy?

Over the decades I've seen a lot of commentary on the links between Thelema and Tantra, even if asynchronous, of varying degrees of quality. To do something worthwhile is going to take open discussion of the upper degree OTO grade papers and the ability to cite the Tantras chapter & verse.

I know I’m super late to the party and hate to set the fox among the hens, but I always found the impulse to perform Crowley’s birthday as an ersatz Christmas to be kinda cringe.

Look, all I'm saying is, I've lost track of all the esotericists who've gone fash or conspiritual or otherwise have revealed brain rot. I think at this point, it may be easier to make a list of those who haven't. And, honestly, I'm feeling mad, sad, and embarrassed to be one, anymore. But fuck 'em.
