I had the HARDEST work week plus my friend passing away so being able to get this much amazing work done and so many great creative ideas is just a fucking gift. It makes me so happy to be me.

What’s extra awesome about SINNERS having the most Oscar nominations ever - 16 total! - is that it would have broken the previous record (14) even if the Academy HADN’T added a new category this year.

I’m halfway through my first week of intensives (a section of time at work where I have extra classes in the morning PLUS my normal ones in the evening) and I don’t get paid until Friday and my accounts are basically empty. This is a really tough (and hungry) week.

Only went a handful of times but every time I go to Canter’s, I cannot help but think of the sci-fi themed pizza place across Fairfax. Food was nothing to write home about but the decor made it fun.

I don’t think I’ll ever have the proper words in my vocabulary to describe how certain Korean films hit me. So fucking deeply. I’m revisiting a favorite atm and I’ve forgotten how earth-shattering it is. I love film. All kinds. But Korean films hit just hit differently.

I remember when I saw People in the Slum (Bae Chang-ho,1982). It completely changed my life. I’d seen thousands of films in my life. From all kinds of countries. But this was different. Thank you KOFA for having it on your YT channel. It’s why I’m here now. And I’m so sad for the loss of our 안성기.
