Just a soft reminder for readers who want to support indie authors. We're so grateful whenever you purchase our books, wherever you purchase our books.

Just remember, if we have books on non-Amazon sites (like itch.io), consider buying there because some markets give us better royalties. #booksky

Calling All Indie Authors!

I've set out to read at least 12 books by indie authors this year 🤓📖

Fellow indies, shout out your indie title and description in the comments below so I can start building my list! 🖤

so every once in a while everyone gets on here and is like SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL INDIE BOOKSTORES YOU MONSTERS and then also when a romance author (not me) points out their disappointment that the bookstore doesn't carry romance, this is the response.

anyway, LOVE to all the indies carrying romance!

Can confirm! Itchio is a great place for indie authors, especially marginalized authors who have been censored on KDP and/or who fear a KDP crackdown on queer content.
Self pub peeps, put your books on itch.io. I mean it. First of all, it's where all the lesbians publish. Secondly, even with most of our books set to an accessible pay-what-you-want, almost half the sales on itch have made about twice the return of Amazon's projected royalties.

Treat yourself.

Authors, it is really well, well past time to stop using AI for your cover art.

(Especially if your book claims to be about social justice.)

How can I trust the words in your book to be ethically produced when the face you put on it wasn’t?

I retreating back into my sad little hermit cave and will be stepping away from the keyboard, but congrats to all the debut authors. Now get cracking on that second one!

Hey readers if you get my books from the library….THANK YOU! Libraries are wonderful! Authors do get paid when our books are in libraries and it’s a way to get our books in the hands of readers who might not have picked it up otherwise. Thank you for using the library, keep it up! Libraries rock!!!

Support trans authors by buying AND READING our books. Financial support is absolutely good and necessary, but we write first and foremost to tell our stories. Our stories need to be told, and, frankly, you need to hear them.

You don't need to place 'aspiring author' in your bio when you submit. Again, if you've written a story and sent it to an editor, you're an author, pickle, nothing aspiring about it.

Support indie authors.

Support indie game developers.

Your wallet is your sword.
if you think the Meta announcements are bad (they are), wait until you see what the struggling television, film & games industry does in the wake of neo-fascism

it will all be creatively bankrupt, it will all eventually backfire & explode in their faces, but we are in for quite a few years of it

I know Penguin recently put out a call for queer authors and queer stories. Just a reminder that I am always looking for queer romance for our Harlequin Intrigue imprint and many of our series are also open to submissions by agented and unagented authors year round. Ask me anything!

This. Authors and artists have to stand in solidarity together against generative AI.

Support trans authors by buying, reading, and shouting about trans lit 🏳️‍⚧️
You can post for likes with “We need trans stories more than ever”

OR

you can readily find, purchase, and talk up the many, many, many trans stories that exist in your preferred format from an array of creative people. In the time you spent vaguely posting you could’ve done something tangible.
