Trying to find higher-level motivation or reasoning in this administration’s use of airstrikes feels like an attempt to gaze away from the far bleaker reality: Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth, Stephen Miller, and all the rest of them find joy in murder.
Obviously one can't responsibly put this in a news piece, but I think it's extremely reasonable to hypothesize that he likes to wave a hand or press a button and have people die from firepower as a result. It is simply fun to him and perhaps even serves to cheer him up when he's otherwise frustrated

curiosity is my most driving mode but I truly have no curiosity about AI. the world is vast, full of politics & creativity at every scale. I've been lucky to live in 8 of its countries. history is a whole other planet. connecting to the land brings 4+ new layers of existential knowledge. yknow, LIFE

Good. fuck all the saying "this is inevitable" or "it's here deal with it" or even "it's fine"/"it's not a big deal". This is a moveable needle. It's ruining lives (mine included already), ruining the environment, ruining art and creativity, is profoundly antihuman, isn't needed and isn't wanted.

<p>Haaretz reported that at the signing ceremony of an agreement to evacuate the Binyamin military base and build housing units in the Beit El settlement, Katz said: "We are deep inside Gaza and we will never leave all of Gaza - there will be no such thing. We are here to protect and prevent what happened."</p>
<p>He added that the Israeli army is also "inside Lebanon, inside Syria, at the peak of Mount Hermon in the security zone and inside the terrorist camps in the West Bank."</p>
<p>"The IDF is and will be cutting off between jihadist enemies and our communities and residents. We don't trust anyone, and no one will come and tell us - there will be no agreement, we won't move a millimetre in Syria," he said. </p>
