The journalists' job (very seldom discharged) is to hold power to account, *regardless of the nature of that power*. But when I criticise the failings of this government, I get widely told to leave it alone for fear of letting in the Tories/Reform. Sorry. Accountability is the essence of democracy.

I know everyone is using 'British Asian' to describe these gangs, but can I just say that a minority of men of Pakistani ethnicity does not represent the entire Pakistani community or an entire continent. It puts other Asian men at risk. In the same way, Sikh men were physically attacked after 9/11.

I have sympathy for the farmers but if you have a £5m asset and only £30,000 profit, then when you are in the streets protesting about the asset value, I think it is reasonable for people to ask where you were over the previous two decades when the profitability was destroyed.
