Karoline Leavitt does almost daily press briefings. There should be equal and opposite briefings from Democrat spokespeople to counter her lies. God knows there would be plenty of material to counter.

this isn't about the fucking deal anymore. It's about the leadership of the Democratic party and the party itself. Call for Schumer's ouster and the primary of everyone that voted for this bullshit or get the fuck out of the way. No more half measures.

I don't know this lady at all, but I think she explains what's going on really straightforwardly and well.
This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.

We need new leaders in the Senate.

Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.

Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

The American people need more from their leaders.

This is the facility that I and many others have been protesting. We’ve been hit, thrown, gassed, and shot with pepper bullets but none of that holds a candle to what is being done to people *in* the actual facility.

Read this thread. Don’t look away. Keep your eyes and the pressure on Broadview.
A family friend was telling us about what her husband shared about his experience in Broadview before he was deported back to Mexico. She's been sharing to friends and family because she's just in disbelief & horror what her husband told her. She wasn't able to talk to him until he was in Mexico.

Remember: no matter who is in the Oval Office, you can always fight for change at the state and local levels.

Just look at New Mexico.

We already know what single payer benefits look like.

Employers and employees both pay a tax to the government, and social security pays out the benefit to the recipient. It doesn’t matter what state they are in, or even if they need the money. The pay in was made for them and they get the payout.

Is anybody else amused that the woman who won Governor of New Jersey was born in Virginia, and the one who won Virginia was born in New Jersey?

Mamdani: "My message to ICE agents & to everyone across this city is that everyone will be held to the same standard of the law. If you violate it, you must be held accountable. There is sadly a sense growing that certain people are allowed to violate that law, whether they be POTUS or ICE agents."

Today's hearing, which @jonseidel.bsky.social has been livetweeting, is in a lawsuit about conditions inside Broadview. One man held for 3 days broke into tears as he testified to the awful conditions.

Multiple sworn declarations says ICE uses the threat of longer stays to get deportation orders. 🧵

The first time I posted this, Zohran was down 30 points. We had never met and we were in a room full of famous people. Absolutely nobody knew who he was, so we were able to talk Onion headlines uninterrupted for ten minutes.

This was five months ago. Now he's one of the most important people alive.

I was laid off from Teen Vogue this week, alongside multiple other phenomenal team members.

At our Summit, I was asked how it felt to be 1 of 2 Black women left and what that meant for representation. Now, there are no Black women at Teen Vogue and that is incredibly painful to think about.

DAILY DEMS DOING THE WORK, MAKING NOISE, AND FIGHTING BACK Day 279

All Dems, from the most progressive to the least are talking about the R Shutdown, from ACA to Snap. Even the most moderate Dem is still a Dem, and I am excited to show that all week. You wanted a united message? Here it is.

dissatisfied by the New York Times coverage of Zohran Mamdani?

great news! I talked to the guy Thursday about his campaign’s success at bringing community together beyond this election, and contextualized how it’s potentially shifted youth engagement with politics by simply listening @teenvogue.com
Zohran Mamdani's Establishment-Fighting Campaign Built Community for Young People
“What Mamdani has done is not only inspire and mobilize young people, but he has exposed the establishment and some of their calcified views of participation and inclusion.”
