I know plenty of smart people who aspire to be inclusive and believe themselves so yet simply do not think about, much less put into practice, anything in this great little piece.

Why Are People Wearing Masks in 2025?
a mental health professional’s perspective

There are a few sane voices out there in the maddening wilderness.
People would go wild if MS or lupus were airborne, but Covid is airborne, and it can reactivate EBV, which is linked to both. It’s biologically plausible that we’re seeing more MS- and lupus-related illness after widespread airborne viruses. So mask up 😷

Someday, for a while, I want to live with people who cultivate joy in our egos' cosmic insignificance by embracing the truth that we are what the universe is doing right here and now--a comforting compromise between our fleeting brevity and our nature as expressions of the whole eternal shebang.

What's a word people often treat like a fancy vocab word that actually gets used so frequently it's actually not impressive?

I bet we can think of a plethora of them.

I call "plethora."

I love Rebecca DOWN. Known as Dollar Tree Dinners.

Her “Meal in a Bag” is meant to provide ppl with a complete meal that is $8 or less, is shelf stable, & can be made without access to a full kitchen. I love this as a direct aid option. Good for neighbors & elders who can’t/wont go to a pantry.

It was an audacious proposal, given that the U.S. has never held a true, nationwide general strike.

Those who are able-bodied enough to get out to protest this weekend, please know that there are MANY more who would love to be there with you--and are, in spirit. I have probably joined 50-75 protests in my life, and it pains me not to be able to go to this one. Thank you for your courage!

When I started college, back in the pre-internet era, I planned to live at home, but my dad got a job in another state. My parents and sister moved in less than a month, and they dumped me in an apartment in downtown San Jose. My mother wrote down my contact information but lost it in the move.

My general impression from working with college students--and there are many exceptions--is that they tend to think they're far more tech- and internet-savvy than they actually are. But that's my impression of my generation (Gen X), too. So, millennials, it's up to you to save us from the boomers.
