What Hegseth did today was inform an organization he’s unqualified to lead that (a) any area in which he believes he personally excels (e.g. physical fitness) is all that matters, and (b) any area in which he’s deficient (leadership, morality, ethics, record, experience, intelligence) is immaterial.

If we accurately understand that America has an immense problem with violent extremism on both sides of the ideological aisle, then the answer lies in reconciliation, not domination. In fact, it’s the will to dominate that magnifies the crisis and radicalizes our opponents.

A sincere question: should Dems now champion the 2nd Amendment (and encourage responsible gun ownership in their ranks) since they are the targets of an out of control POTUS intent on destroying them?
