Being a patient is no fun. But grateful for excellent care by surgeons, anesthesiologist, and nursing staff. And helpful that I speak the language. I can see how this can be overwhelming for people with no medical background.

Continuing our growing tradition of traveling for sports, flew to Seattle this morning to attend Seattle Storm playoff game. If this awesome crowd has anything to do with it, hoping for a big win for the Storm! #LightTheCity #everyonewatcheswomenssports

Today at South Perry Farmers Market, owner asked if anyone spoke Russian. Woman from back of line helped elderly couple with payment issue. Kudos to owner for asking for help & woman for
helping. Love that Spokane welcomes refugees & immigrants & no one in line thought this was an odd request!

Concerning "sign of the times" we are in. Went to Sacred Heart medical center yesterday to support FM residents. They are screening for measles symptoms at the door and asking people to go away or at least mask. Glad I could tell them no symptoms & know I'm immune. #VaccinesWork #VaccinesSaveLives

“Immunizations work, they are very effective and safe, and they save lives. Vaccines are among the most rigorously studied and effective tools in public health.”

Kudos to AAFP, AAP, ACOG, ACP, IDSA for this.

We will not stay silent on vaccines, say leaders of five major U.S. medical associations
“We cannot and will not gamble with our patients’ health or the health of our communities,” write the presidents of the AAFP, AAP, ACP, ACOG, and IDSA.

Surreal. Calmly watching Spokane Velocity soccer match not far from this action. Some people on a hill adjacent to stadium looking downtown & waft of something came close. Hope all stay safe. With them in spirit.
This is going on *RIGHT NOW* in Spokane.

SPD has declared an unlawful assembly and multiple people have been arrested. Police are preparing to teargas peaceful protesters.

I need answers from @mayorspokane.bsky.social and SPD about why they unnecessarily escalated this situation and supported ICE.
Video shared from a protestor shows a wider angle of protestors and our reporter getting pushed back by purported law enforcement agents at the ICE office in #spokane

When I was in practice my go-to source for information, especially about infectious diseases and immunizations, was the CDC. Very sad for my colleagues still practicing medicine and for all people that this public health resource is no longer so reliable.

With recent reports of measles cases in airports like SEA, was a little worried; only had one dose of MMR. Can't have another due to med I take. Got titer checked. Relieved to know I am immune to measles. If you haven't had 2 doses & are at risk of exposure, consider 2nd dose or get titer checked.
Some adults should get a #measles vaccination! If you were born after 1957 and haven’t had 2 doses, check with your doctor. I got my first dose in 1967, wasn’t fully immune during an outbreak while I was pregnant, got a dose of MMR in 1990.

It sounds like there is a lot of stuff in the "big beautiful bill" that isn't directly budget related. How can the parliamentarian let this go through reconciliation?

A non-exhaustive list of things to try if we actually want to support families:

-universal basic income
-free or low-cost childcare
-universal healthcare
-federally-mandated paid parental leave
-eliminate the motherhood penalty
-eliminate the manosphere

But they want to try “menstrual classes”
The Trump administration is assessing ways to persuade women in the U.S. to have more children, as a movement grows on the right to reverse declining birthrates and push conservative family values. Some pitched ideas include cash baby bonuses and menstrual cycle classes. nyti.ms/4jh3UAR
