Before yesterday, I’d never met an elf. Now I’ve met two, and both have unusual eyes. I don’t really know what else to think other than, Holy shit, what is happening and who is this? The elf bows, straight, pitch black hair swinging forward with his head. “Greetings, Your Highness,” he says in a voice that melts the ice in my ears. “My name is Darrow Broadside, and I am your new guard.”
