Is Peston suggesting that Western democracies (albeit, apartheid states) should get a free pass on genocide?

This raises all kinds of questions, not least over whether, if equally capable of committing crimes against humanity, liberal democracy has any value other than being a Get Out of Jail card

Can we all just shout about how despicable it is to scapegoat migrants for everything? Can we just stop being too polite or shy about it? Can we condemn it at work, with friends, family, on SM, everywhere? Can we just not keep calm & carry on until it’s too late?

Latest processing of UK Biobank brain imaging data - now with 82,000 usable first-scan datasets. Correlating brain IDPs with 13,000 non-imaging variables gives a rich manhattan-stye plot. 324,000 Bonferroni-significant associations.

I read the word "endpoint" in the context of EWAS disease phenotypes today, and I think it's important to frame diseases in this way because it reminds you to think about everything upstream!

Genetic "optimization" of embryos appears to be becoming mainstream. The narrative currently is largely controlled by startups that range across the spectrum from hardcore snake-oil to well-intentioned & occasionally strong domain expertise. But these are not neutral parties. 1/
