Not sure if anyone has noticed a pattern that everything this administration does seems to benefit Moscow: weaken alliance credibility and deterrence and signal unpredictability.

Yes, I’m frustrated that the word salad sentences never get quoted in mainstream press or played on mainstream news, with a comment “well, this made no sense”.
"The American media makes things that are abnormal seem normal. The European press doesn’t do that. So you’ll see when they report on Trump’s rambling Davos speech, they will say it made no sense. In the US press, you’ll just see excerpts and an attempt to sanitize it." — @anneapplebaum.bsky.social

Totally forgot to add this but someone mentioned how eerie it is that a train track is running near the area and it actually runs directly behind the proposed concentration camp. This video is from the parking lot:

There are hundreds of people trickling into the Surprise City Council meeting. The main room has filled up, and the overflow room is filling up atm. A crowd of protesters is also outside the building. 130 people have signed up to speak (and that’s just folks who live in Surprise).

You do know this is about CA water (we get it from the snowpack because it doesn’t rain much in the summer) and not skiing. Just making sure you know this can be serious.
I haven't skied in decades, but this doesn't seem good overall.
California's Department of Water Resources conducted the second snow survey of the rainy season at dozens of locations in the Sierra Nevada and found that the snowpack is 59% of average for this date. nbcbay.com/6dtW540

Yes, been saying this for a year and was worried my friends would think I was a conspiracy theorist. But it was obvious to me as soon as he sent goons to LA.
"The endgame is the Insurrection Act....the moment Trump can see a situation in which he feels justified in invoking it, it starts a domino effect that will lead to martial law and the suspension of the 2026 elections."

Dems should run on this. Trump will not pivot on this one, he will double down. Dems should keep messaging that Trump is raising their utility bills, making climate change worse, and wasting a great investment.

Good thread. Good comments.
I'm calling bullshit on the media narrative that Trump is "pivoting" and "deescalating" on his ICE raids. The threshold is this: As long as the military occupations and the treatment of US cities as enemy territory continue, there's no pivot. ICE out. 1/

This is a critical point from Sen Chris Murphy: If Dems fold on ICE now, it could be a disaster in the midterms.

"The result will be a lot of voters who tend to turn out in midterm elections just won’t."
