Capitalists are not inclined to be frank about their incomes. “Commercial secrets” are strictly guarded and it is very difficult for the uninitiated to penetrate the “mysteries” of how riches are piled up. Private property is sacred…Such is the principle of capitalism.

I published a short and quick primer on how local law enforcement, mostly sheriffs, can collaborate with ICE. I hope it's useful -- I also would love to know what people are seeing in their community.

Lots of non-Black people #onhere today saying that "everyone" will move on from the fascist in chief's anti-Black post in a couple of days. I am wondering if Black people are included in the "everyone" or if you just mean yourselves.

I’m sorry but I have to push back on this:

They were designed originally to be concentration camps. They have been a hotbed for abuse and neglect since their inception.

This is not unique to Trumps governance, this is the reality of the US immigration system.
Reminder that ICE facilities are supposed to be civil, not criminal. And yet they have been designed under Trump to be concentration camps so terrible detainees will choose “voluntary” deportation rather than continue living there.

This is evil. And history will view it—and its participants—thus.
This is Maria, a 6-year-old detained by ICE last year.

She began to unravel soon after arriving at a detention center in Texas, wetting the bed after years without accidents, crying through the night and begging to breastfeed again.

Most of all, she wanted to be reunited with her cat, Milo. 1/

trump posting a racist video of the obamas on his social media platform is actually not the most racist thing a president has done and im fairly certain the founding fathers themselves would have been quite chuffed with it.

Swear to god, ICE could just announce they're leaving a city but not leave and the media will just stop covering that city completely even though ICE never left.

It's what ICE and the media did with LA and they're doing it with Minneapolis too

The US has more than enough housing for everyone. The problem is that all of it is being held in private hands. 770K+ people are homeless because financial elites view real estate as a hedge against inflation and the government refuses to make housing speculation illegal.
Why nobody really knows the scale of the U.S. housing crisis
Experts say the U.S. needs an additional 2 million to 20 million homes to fix the shortfall, underscoring the challenge of meeting the nation’s housing needs.
