New Zealanders are clever!
Game changer
Scientists in N. Zealand have discovered a native fungus that can break down plastic in just 140 days.
Researchers at the University of Canterbury have now found that Daldinia concentrica can digest common plastics like polypropylene & polyethylene, which make up a huge portion of global waste.

I've been fact checking Dutton's claim that grocery bills have gone up 30% (nope more like 12%)

And Ted O'Briend's number that power bills have gone up $1,300 (nope more like $500-$600).

Check out the live blog for all the reality rather than the crap

Dutton dumps controversial plans to axe bureaucrats and end working from home
Dutton will face questions about whether the Coalition can find $7 billion in savings now that the party has ruled out forced redundancies from the public service.

A couple of things:

1. Saul Kavonic is not a “leading energy expert”. He’s a junior analyst who’s made a name by attacking Labor on behalf of the gas industry.

2. Dutton’s gas policy is just a lie. The Coalition will quietly walk this back soon after the election

'Populist' and a 'betrayal': Leading gas expert lets rip on Dutton plan

That a wartime president who courageously remained in his country despite being urged to leave, and has united and led his country since, is lectured on 'peace' and 'advantage' by a former military photographer and a draft dodger is a massive irony.

THIS 👇 needs to be the template for every campaign ad. Let Albo stand on his record AND make Dutton explain his record of opposing everything. #auspol #AusVotes2025

It's so important to remember this.
Just re-upping this again because the Temu Trumps in the LNP insist on bringing every culture war here: the Morrison govt spent $20.8bn on consultants in its final year - the equivalent of 54,000 FT public servants. The private sector benefits with govt cuts. No one else.

Today the Coalition made clear if elected they would sack public sector workers, cut their pay & return to funnelling our money to the big consultants. We lose jobs, pay, expertise, services & money spent in local communities. Good for consultants profits, bad for the country

I can never understand why children's books get left out of "great book" lists. The books we call "children's books" are really books written for an audience that includes children, but excludes no-one. They are books for EVERYONE - and if you exclude them, you miss the most important books of all!
