I don’t know who needs to hear this but unless you are literally a WNBA franchise owner, you should be on the WNBA players’ side in CBA negotiations just like you’d be on labor’s side if they were sanitation workers or air traffic controllers.

That is one hell of a load-bearing "albeit."

Mary Carillo belongs on the Mt. Rushmore of tennis media for sure and perhaps sports TV overall, and I would absolutely see a band called nugatory flapdoodle, no questions asked

Really? Because I know an incredible number of secular groups doing amazing things in my community. I will acknowledge that it's the Bay Area but still, it's proof you don't need organized religion to organize around doing great things.
I know Bluesky loves to celebrate this stuff, but uh, you guys aren’t going to love the stuff that’s replacing the churches.
The U.S. is undergoing its fastest religious shift in modern history, marked by a rapid increase in the religiously unaffiliated and numerous church closures nationwide.

One of the cornerstones of the new deal was vitalizing local journalism! Bring it back!
one thing of many that would be really good to rebuild in this country is local news reporting

I go to more shows than you and I think most of these rules suck. Your personal preference doth not a rule make.

And fucking spare me that sanctimonious “just live in the moment” bullshit. I can hold up a phone to record a moment while also living in it. I don’t even look at the fucking phone lol
We are living in a society, people, and many of you need to be reminded your actions impact everyone around you, especially when your phone is out.

we are living thorough 10 years of moral collapse. it’s happening everywhere but is concentrated in the US. we have given up on even trying to argue that there must be more to life, both individually and collectively, than bare materialism and power. we must rededicate ourselves to meaningful life.

Love this new Idris Elba commercial that is like “we heard none of your AI products actually work, so we made another broken AI to coordinate all your broken AI. Now give us all your moneys.” but in a very sexy British accent

Herbie’s completely delusional if he thinks Gameday has been above the fray any time in the last 10 years at minimum and clickbait would be a step up for his analysis, which at present only rises to the level of AI slop. I literally think Claude could add as much to a broadcast.

Methinks the AI defender’s labeler sucks just as much as her favorite tech lmao
Yeah I don’t think it’s an inherently bad thing. I sure as shit can’t read a sun dial! I just think it’s a skill that was eroding long before cell phones and Gen Z came along

There’s a universe in which this is terrible in a campy, fun, in on the joke way. I will be pleasantly stunned if we are living in that universe. Looks awful

Not quite so bad as to be the James Franklin of the Southwest, but 7-15 (.318) in his career against AP top-10 opponents isn’t the most encouraging stat for a guy joining a conference with OSU, Oregon, Indiana and the rest. Granted he did have some success against Oregon in the Pac-12

Well that’s incredibly fucked up but I would argue that the opt-put would be GETTING THE FUCK OFF OF TWITTER. No one is on that site without giving consent, either
Users are noticing Twitter/X has added a Grok-powered AI image editor that lets anyone edit any image on the platform, including other people’s artwork using text prompts.

Artists warn there’s no opt-out or consent, raising concerns over unauthorized edits and misuse.

Then 3 agents divvy up his paid for food—taking what they want for themselves.

"Can I just get the wife's number to call and let her know?" woman asks.

"No, guess he should've complied," agent says.

I'm going to tell my favorite story again about reflecting the certainty of beliefs back at people who don't expect it.

A friend was one of the few Jews on faculty at a North Dakota University. Every year, his colleague in religious studies would invite him to come to his religious studies class...
