Part self-help memoir and part Dudes Rock polemic, the book presents a capital-letter credo: "Men Protect, Provide, and Procreate."

This is gonna do numbers but it is literally a fantasy about a party that doesn’t exist. Anyone the DNC runs in a primary is going to be just as feckless and corporate-owned as the Dems we have now, because that is what the DNC wants. It will never be your friend.

It continues to be very funny to me that Stewie and Lan are teammates. There’s also a running theme of Aces-Mercury team-ups throughout the rosters in the aftermath of the most recent WNBA Finals

I imagine Minnesota residents reacted more severely. I hope we get behind the scenes content of the pair talking trash about it either way. Beyond that, I'm not sure a lineup of point guard Stewie, wing Smith and center Li would be effective, but I'd enjoy it. The three-guard permutation of Burton, Gray and Ogunbowale? UConn unsurprisingly made short work out of Louisville, but the other matchups of ranked teams so far both delivered thrillers. Said it a few times on Monday, but I really think injury is the only thing that will keep Taliah Scott from being one of the breakout stars in #NCAAWBB this season.

No. 16 Baylor had the bigger win on the scoreboard (58-52) and the bigger upset by both measures as it held off No. 7 Duke in Paris, while No. 9 NC State's 80-77 win over No. 8 Tennessee in the state of North Carolina (Greensboro) was a bit less surprising. Baylor snapped a six-game skid against AP top-10 opponents, earning its first such win since December 2023, behind 24 points from Taliah Scott in her Bears debut after averaging 21.9 per game in two injury-plagued seasons at Arkansas (20 games in 2023-24) and Auburn (three games last season). NC State overcame a 10-point first-half deficit and closed the back-and-forth fourth quarter with 11 of the final 16 points after Lady Vols freshman Mia Pauldo's 3-pointer put her team ahead 72-69. Khamil Pierre led the way with 21 points and 14 rebounds in her NC State debut, perhaps taking a bit of the sting out of her departure for Vanderbilt fans by handing their hated rival an 0-1 start.

New season, no Paige or Kaitlyn, but after cruising past a top-20 Louisville team yesterday it sure appears they’re still the same old UConn. Sarah Strong’s 4th straight 20-point game dating to the Elite Eight and the second time in a row that Azzi Fudd scored 20 alongside her. #NCAAWBB

The top-ranked Huskies jumped out to a 21-9 lead over No. 20 Louisville and were up by 21 points (61-40) through three quarters, but a 26-18 Cardinals edge in the final frame brought the final margin down to 13 points, the slimmest margin in the 17-game streak. Sophomore Sarah Strong led the Huskies in points (21), rebounds (9), assists (5) and had both of the team's blocks while hitting 9-of-17 from the field and 3-of-4 at the line. So, no need to worry about a sophomore slump yet, despite the exceedingly high bar she set by finishing second in the nation in PER as a freshman. Azzi Fudd (20 points, 3 assists) joined Strong in the 20-point club, and I would be willing to bet it won't be the last time the two of them score 20 in the same game this season. It's actually the second straight time that it's happened after the pair shared the team-high with 24 points in April's national championship against South Carolina. UConn will look for its 18th straight win on Sunday afternoon against Florida State.

Wes Moore doesn’t have his team cosplay as a hockey team, but he does have to replace 3 starters the same as Kim Caldwell does. Not sure the Wolfpack’s season would look quite so promising if not for the late transfer of Khamil Pierre, but Vandy’s loss is their gain. #NCAAWBB

Thankfully, the Pack bring back two more star guards from one of the deepest backcourts in the country last season in second-leading scorer Zoe Brooks (14.2 points per game) and sophomore Zamareya Jones (7.1 points in 16 minutes per game off the bench) as well as sophomore forward Tilda Trygger (6.6 points, 4.9 rebounds per game, 52.0% from the field). There are also two transfers expected to play big roles, with guard Qadence Samuels coming over from UConn (where she played sparingly) and someone who Tennessee knows quite well, junior forward Khamil Pierre, who joins the Pack after averaging 20.4 points, 9.6 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game last season at Vanderbilt.

Not sure whether I’m more amused by the idea of Kim Caldwell using the Pauldo twins on the same unit so they’re on the floor together, or splitting them up so they’re always replacing each other, but I know I can’t wait to watch Tennessee and I wholeheartedly endorse all twin shenanigans. #NCAAWBB
Tulin’s Treasures newsletter screenshot Text: Caldwell is probably best known for coaching much of last season while pregnant and then returning to the sideline a week after giving birth, but her team's signature is her unique hockey-style approach to substitutions, which ideally take the form of five-for-five line changes. Caldwell's top two lines got an infusion of talent this offseason, including a pair of impact transfers in the frontcourt (reigning Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year Janiah Barker and former top-10 recruit Jersey Wolfenbarger). There's also a quintet of top-100 freshmen headlined (at least as far as I'm concerned) by the Sister, Sister act of twin guards Mia and Mya Pauldo. They join a roster that brings back two of last year's top-liners in top scorer Talaysia Cooper (16.6 points per game) and Zee Spearman (11.7 PPG, 51.5% from the field), but they lost one of their linemates when Ruby Whitehorn (11.6 PPG) was dismissed from the team this week.
