Hey everyone! Quick intro: I’m passionate about #AI, #data, and transforming research into real-world impact. I specialise in research IT infrastructure, #HPC, and data-driven projects, worked in the UK, France, Australia and the US. If you're excited by emerging tech and research, let’s connect!

When you hear “conservatives” say people are going to leave New York because of Zohran Mamdani just know that it’s the same fear mongering BS they have been saying for years.

So happy for the LGBTQIA+ community - but it shouldn’t take #SCOTUS to affirm something so fundamental, something we’ve always known was right. Celebrating basic #HumanRights feels bittersweet. Is this really where #USPol is headed?

I hadn’t noticed until I came across this piece - there really are far fewer CAPTCHAs around these days! Maybe AI’s just too good at cracking them, and there’s no real alternative. Funny how most of us didn’t even notice.

The Curious Case of the Bizarre, Disappearing Captcha
While puzzling captchas—from dogs in hats to sliding jockstraps—still exist, most bot-deterring challenges have vanished into the background.

As @mallorymcmorrow.bsky.social points out below, last night’s Senate votes harm everyone. Really, how are some people still not seeing how bad this is?
This is a bad deal, and the old way of doing things is clearly not working.

We need new leaders in the Senate.
November 10, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Declare your Senate run tomorrow, @aoc.bsky.social; we need real leadership now. Don’t cave on ACA subsidies or SNAP benefits!
#HoldTheLine #ACA #SNAP #USPol
The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.
November 10, 2025 at 2:15 AM
This isn't a game; people's lives are at stake here! These politicians need to understand that millions of families rely on #SNAP programs for their survival. It’s time to take action and prioritize lives over politics!
#USPol #FeedTheHungry
We have major breaking updates:

First, Trump has ordered states to stop paying full SNAP benefits.

Second, a Reagan Judge has resigned to speak out against Donald Trump.

Third, Trump is lashing out as Republicans on Capitol Hill become comfortable with ignoring him.

I have the latest:
Major Mid-Day Breaking News
Donald Trump orders states stop paying full SNAP benefits, Reagan judge resigns to speak out against Trump, Trump feels increasingly isolated as Republicans begin to ignore him, and more

I found this piece from @seangoedecke on AI's overuse of “em dashes” really interesting. I’ve often asked myself the same question too.
#AI #Writing #Grammar
Why do AI models use so many em-dashes?
If you asked most people to name a defining feature of AI-generated writing, they’d probably say the em-dash — like this. Language models use em-dashes so much…

Hope and humanity always win! A Portland coffee shop just raised over $300K so families on SNAP can get free breakfast and lunch. Proof that community care still matters - and small acts can do big things.

This Nature research just proves what we've known all along: #GarbageInGarbageOut. When the training data is low-quality, LLMs skip crucial reasoning steps, making their output completely untrustworthy. It's a fundamental problem.

New research by @bartellab.bsky.social reveals mRNA 3' UTRs can actively degrade microRNAs, not just be regulated by them. This target-directed degradation shapes imprinted gene networks and controls growth - a fascinating reversal of typical gene regulation.

Finally watched Zohran Mamdani's victory speech and I almost fuckin cried. I got real goosebumps. This is what we need.

Stop listening to the loudest and most out-of-touch pundits screaming about moving to the centre. Be bold and unrelenting in caring about each other.

What I like most about #Bluesky was how clean the feed was - zero algorithm interference. Now with "dislikes" coming? I'm torn. Is that about genuine platform balance, or just building a new engagement trap? Either way, 40M users is real growth. Hope this doesn't screw up the formula.

What on earth is going on, @teenvogue.com? You produced some of the year’s best political coverage this year, and now you’re cutting your entire politics staff!? This can only lead to one conclusion: those calling the shots don’t care about journalism’s role in holding power to account.
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.

It’s beyond belief - hearing #KatieLam’s anti-immigrant rhetoric feels like a step back to the 1930s. It’s dangerous, dehumanising, and utterly wrong. If the #Tories think this wins support, they’re in for a rude awakening.
