Nice blog by @barbscrowther.bsky.social on school meals and breakfast clubs

Not sure Kier Starmer actually said or did anything new or significant

But the rest of this is spot on

Also with an honourable mention is Henry Dimbleby, another Etonian who likes preaching down to the poor about what they should and shouldn’t be eating

It would be remiss of me not too post this classic clip

Remember Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall was at Eton with Boris Johnson

It’s much easier to preach 30 types of plant if you’re incredibly privileged & don’t have the constant worry of not having enough work to pay the bills or the DWP stopping your benefits

Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall: Why I eat 30 types of plant a week
The TV cook says he’s fitter than he was 20 years ago and puts it down to a diet based on plants. So where’s the man who ate squirrels and once made pâté from placenta? Michael Odell goes to his farm ...

There hasn’t been a “change in the rules”

Some Councils have taken a different view on their GDPR obligations

I’m still not convinced the process is entirely legal, but who is going to object to more children getting the food they’re entitled to 🤷‍♂️
Thousands more children to receive free school meals. 🍽️

Thousands of children across Devon and Cornwall will soon get free school meals thanks to changes in the rules.

The BBC has confirmed it has received the letter and will respond in due course”

We went to Tesco's yesterday and I saw that Piss Morgan has a book out called "Woke is dead".

It's a fascinating sales strategy, writing books aimed at people who can't read.

This is an outstanding post on the criminal justice system. Do read.
New post just out:

Why the criminal justice system should be top of No. 10's "shit list".

No part of the public sector is more broken or brings with it greater political risk. As we saw these past two weeks.

It desperately needs a new approach.

In Northern Ireland each school meal currently costs an average of £4.28 to produce

In England, no one knows the true cost, but schools receive £2.61

It’s just not sustainable

The sheer greasy desperation from these bastards that any violent crime is committed by an immigrant so they can continue their grift. Even when they know it isn't true. Foul.

There are two key points at which this country took a wrong turn. One is when Gordon Brown didn't say "Look I'm sure she's perfectly nice but what she *was* bigoted". The other was when Sky let Goodwin off the hook by cutting away. Should have made him eat that entire fucking book.
