Penny Wong insisted "Jewish leaders had urged the government to issue an invitation.

And that's where it gets complicated. Not all Jewish Australians want Herzog to come."

Thank you, Laura Tingle, for acknowledging what few in mainstream media will.
And for tackling the realities that most avoid.

It's NOT Decarbonisation or Adaptation--we desperately need both to avoid further #ClimateCatastrophe
5/ My answer (such as it is): we need people who can do both.

People who hold the longer-term #climate horizon and confront immediate political threats, and who make clear how deeply connected they are.

You’re not real Aboriginals. You don’t wear a lap-lap and hunt for your food, or live in a bark humpy!

Why is it white Australian culture can evolve but Aboriginal culture is not allowed to or risk being classified as not Aboriginal?

Simple answer - Racism.

In October, ICE grabbed Maher Tarabishi.

He was a 24/7 caregiver for his disabled son Wael.

At the time of Maher’s detention, disability advocates warned that taking away Wael’s caregiver put his life at risk.

Wael died on Friday at age 30.

ICE caused his death.

They didn’t get to say goodbye.
Disabled son of ICE detainee dies after 30 days of hospitalization
It had been months since Wael Tarabishi seen his father. The family is calling on ICE to release Maher Tarabishi so he may attend his son's funeral.

So the Israeli PM, who is responsible for repeated ceasefire violations against the Palestinians, is joining the #BoardofPeace ?
Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has said in a statement that he will join Donald Trump’s controversial Board of Peace, which is tasked with overseeing the ceasefire and reconstruction in Gaza.

So by expressing my view and saying that the Israeli Govt under Benjamin Netanyahu is committing a genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza - then under these new hate laws - I may be subject to criminal charges? Is this right? #auspol > www.theguardian.com/australia-ne...
