We're calling for submissions to the Black Archive from disabled authors and authors of colour, who we know have been underrepresented in the range.

Please spread this as widely as you can, as we want it to reach as many eligible authors as possible. Thank you.

I thought it was the best film I've seen for years at the pictures. A stunning examination of how pop-cultural artefact becomes folklore and survives in the remnant of civilisation. A remarkable piece of work.
28 YEARS LATER: THE BONE TEMPLE was an INSANELY interesting movie. Holy hell.

It's a very magical place too. I went up there to watch the Perseid meteor shower in the middle of the night a year or two back. Amazing.

On the BBC's The Lady from the Sea, 1953

I've rather gone to town with extended blog comments about this remarkable recording newly available on BBC iPlayer, and about how we need to learn to look again at exceptional studio drama like this.

BBC Ibsen 2: The Lady from the Sea, 1953 - Illuminations
John Wyver writes: The earliest programme to be featured in BBC iPlayer’s treasure trove of Henrik Ibsen plays and documentaries is the production of The Lady from the Sea, first shown in May 1953. Se...

Lovely! Though I'd take issue with, 'Nor is there any use of classical shot-reverse shot dialogue sequences, as are standard in films, but which live multi-camera production prohibits.' and insist suggest that it's something that more or less every studio drama produced after this did regularly.

Disgraceful.

A genuinely disgraceful abrogation of responsibility, one which has the side-benefit of destroying the planet. Could you not just employ some humans to help the poorer children? Or eveb try to make poor schools equivalent to rich ones? A shameful, shameful act. 'Toss the poors to AI'.
