It's here! Joel Morris and I wrote a ghost story for the long winter nights, and Rosie Cavaliero, Carrie Quinlan, Josienne Clark and Victoria Moss breathed strange life into it. Turn off the lights and gather round the fire's glowing embers...

That is beautiful and quite the nostalgia rush. If I may add my own little contribution. Me on Christmas Day 1975, age 8, very much the 'Action Man' Christmas I remember.

I took a road-trip with @Bob_Fischer yesterday in preparation for a project that will be announced next year. This was one of our numerous stops. Please SOMEBODY buy the Open All Hours shop and ensure that it remains operating as a business of some kind. Or give it to us... we have plenty of ideas!

This is brilliant, Andy's lucky to have a trove like that. I don't think there are many pics of me opening presents, but there are snippets of cine film from 1977 - including the fleeting disappointment on my face when I realise someone had bought me an Action Man Dinghy before I had an Action Man!

One of my favourite things on the Haunted Generation website... a festive selection of the 20,000 photographs left to Andy Heggs by his Dad. Memories of some very 1970s Christmases: Basil Brush, Lego, Space 1999 and the Matchbox Cascade! Amazing pics.

The Dark Room: “Christmas In The 1970s” By Andy Heggs
Fragmented, fading memories of tinsel-laden Christmas trees from Woolworths, and the tantalising tower of luridly-wrapped presents stacked beneath. The impossible wait for dawn, and the frenzied ri…

Was anyone else told urban myths about telephone boxes and weird phone numbers? Another 100-word horror story written for @mulgraveaudio.bsky.social

Tonight! This is lovely regular night in Whitby, and amidst all the singing and mummery I'll be giving a little talk about how my 1980s Christmases were infused with strange, snowy magic - and how a lot of it came from The Box of Delights.
Tomorrow! Come for folklore, performance, stories about Christmas, and a genuinely spooky haunted raffle! Hosted by the fantastic @bobfischer.bsky.social, you won't want to miss this.

I have a shambling, ridiculous band called Old Muggins and we are doing our first free Christmas gig at The Waiting Room in Eaglescliffe since 2019. And just confirmed as support... the mighty Rick Dobbing of Dressed Like Wolves. This is going to be jolly... Sunday 21st December, all welcome.

Also... I spoke to the mighty Alan Parsons for this issue. We started with 'I Robot' then moved onto Magic Alex and Pilot. Lovely bloke.

Very much looking forward to bringing 'Wren's Nest' to London tonight, onstage around 9.15pm at The Horse Hospital.
