Exploring the universe of species names has been really fun.

I always assumed that genera would be shared across species more often than epithets. It makes sense, right? A genus can include many species, while the epithet is supposed to be more, well, “specific.” 😅

Last week I visited the Center for Marine Studies (UFPR), Brazil 🇧🇷, to share recent works on marine LDG, sampling bias and some ongoing projects.

It was so nice to return to this place full of good memories and catch up with old friends 😁.

Taking the pulse of meiofauna research in 2025. My biggest take-home message as the head of one panel: evolutionary genomics is not (yet) anywhere near reaching its potential in this field, partly because of a lack of visibility/interdisciplinary education. www.nature.com/articles/s42...
