The paywalled text media has what I’d call a “noble savage” view of “the American electorate”
Saying the Toyota production system is not that different from AI … boy I don’t know.

Unsurprising that, after his party got its ass whipped, Trump would lean into vote fraud horseshit. A little surprising, though, that no one has yet told him that anonymous grocery shopping remains not just possible but the norm.
Trump: "It's time for Republicans to do what they have to do and that's terminate the filibuster ... we should start tonight with 'the country's open, congratulations,' then we should pass voted ID, we should pass no mail in voting ... you go to a grocery store, you have to give ID."

when did we decide, as a society, that “cohort” is just a synonym for “group” rather than specifically a group that shares some time-invariant characteristic(s)

Love listening to investors who’ve forgotten more about managing money than I’ll ever know, but when they trip on “monotonic” and “orthogonal” and so forth and then have a thesis on sparkling linear algebra it’s reason to reweight these specific expectations

AI “productivity” is such a slippery conversation. Ultimately, you wind up talking past outputs/outcomes. I hear a lot about how Gen AI makes it so easy to produce emails and docs.

Love the ESPN Bet commercials that depict their audience as suggestible morons, unable to identify that the ideas they think are theirs were fed to them by pervasive advertising or why they would be inherently desirable

No no no they’re saying “sell everything”, which is what American companies are going to be able to do, now that we can compete on an even level with these unfair foreign manufacturers

How about this Trump slump in the stock market huh?

Knocked 20% off my unvested company stock in the first 45 days.

He’s running the economy like one of his companies I guess.
