Associate professor, Political Science @AarhusUni and @CEPDISCresearch. Distributive justice, controversial markets, discrimination, and organ donation ethics.
New book chapter out in this edited volume on organ markets.

My chapter discusses theories of justice and controversial markets, focusing on how economic inequality shapes which markets are problematic.

Thanks to the editors James Stacey Taylor and Marc Cherry.

That's it for my university webpage. Luckily, people can still see my work at ResearchGate, Google Scholar, etc. And good people have already suggested ways of creating my own website.

Now that I don't have an institutional affiliation, I am going to set up a website to share the work I've published over the years. Any suggestions for tools to build a simple website? #academicchatter

As the year ends, so does my contract at Aarhus University. Sad to leave after 14 years as a PhD student, postdoc, and temporary associate professor at the Department of Political Science.

Just submitted a piece on the moral limits of markets that me and two co-authors have been working on all year. Pouring a huge whisky to celebrate.

What are the moral limits of markets?
Many people balk at the idea of markets for votes, kidneys, surrogacy, or sexual services. But why are some markets morally troubling while others are widely accepted? 🧵 #morallimitsofmarkets

I've been editing a special issue on voting advice applications (with Tromborg, Garzia, and Marshall), and the first article has now been published. This has been a really smooth experience, and the articles are great! #VAA #votingadviceapplications

Today I was reviewer 10! The next time an editor can't find reviewers, they should ask Journal of Institutional Economics if they have a spare! #academicchatter #peerreview #academia

Lukewarm take:
Journals shouldn't have reference limits. But reviewer and editors should push back against people who cite too much or too little!

Passed 600 Google Scholar citations! Happy and proud that people read, use, and challenge my work. That’s the best part!

A fellow philosopher wrote me that I’m the philosopher he disagrees with the most, and that he hasn’t read a single paper of mine he agrees with.

I suppose I won’t get a plaque for my office for this achievement, but it does show remarkable consistency.

This is what happened when AI acted as both author and reviewer - a study found AI peer-reviewers accepted fake AI-generated papers 4 out of 5 times. We need #PeerReview to be better, and human oversight is more vital than ever!

Great workshop in Aarhus. Thanks Eli Feiring and Ben Davies for great discussions! Eli talked about non-attendance fees, Ben about basic needs and I presented about rare diseases and priority setting.

As a reviewer I really appreciate journals that notify me about their decisions. I also learn from reading how others evaluated the paper. #peerreview
