I fell in love with anthropology through Thomas Hylland Eriksen's Small Places, Large Issues.
European anthropology is poorer, sadder, and lonelier without Thomas.
We shall remember him for the remarkable way he gave life - and anthropology - meaning.

I wish fellow cis people would realize how interconnected the Right’s anti-trans ideology is to everything else.

NOT TO MENTION Their anti-trans work is genocidal. People scoffed when I said this in 2022 but it is true. Speak up about it already ffs
Politico is reporting Trump will name Dr. Ladapo of Florida to a senior spot, likely Surgeon General or Assistant HHS.

This would be a horrifying pick for trans people. He's responsible for Florida's adult trans ban, and works with SEGM/Anti-trans global movement.

He's also an ardent anti-vaxxer.

🏺I see the "just asking questions crowd" is in an uproar.

But research is not neutral. It doesn't have neutral impact.

This panel wasn't going to be about "innocent debate." It was about validating preferred assumptions over a body of anthropological work.
