This, exactly.
I’m good with my taxes subsidizing social welfare for people who can’t afford food.

I’m enraged with my taxes subsidizing corporate welfare to businesses that won’t pay a living wage.

As Erin notes, many institutions have capitulated, but some are fighting back. Way to go, districts in Chicago, Denver, and Virginia!
2. The Trump administration has pulled out every stop to target schools and hospitals that support trans people. Lacking the law on its side, it has leaned on federal funding threats to enact bans on bathrooms, healthcare, and recognition itself—an attempt to erase trans people by dictate alone.

I'm getting very tired of hearing the baseless notion that "leftist violence" poses the most significant threat.

i have to say, as a trans journalist who has covered the "trans debate" for about a decade now, there is no daylight between how the trump administration and conservatives lie about tylenol and autism and how they've lied about youth trans care.

(Please bear with me while I get to the point.)

My mom died when I was in high school. She had been sick, but we weren't expecting her death as suddenly as it occurred. I chose the words on her grave marker. They were meaningful to me, but I never felt like they represented the essence of Mom. 1/3
Meh. I had more followers on Twitter. But I have better conversations here. I forget sometimes that Twitter exists. And I’m tired of worrying about my audience. I just wanna live a good life, be a good man, and say good things. Maybe somebody will listen. That’s it.
One of the biggest mistakes left-of-center pundits and influencers made was decamping to Bluesky. They made themselves irrelevant, shrunk their audiences, and dramatically lessened the positive impact they could have on our public debate at the precise time we needed it most.

I no longer believe in God as I was taught to read from the Bible, but I continue to be invested in keeping others from the harm of Biblical interpretations wielded as weapons.

While bombing Iran is bad for Trump’s poll numbers, starting a war and creating chaos is good for Trump as an authoritarian. Authoritarians exploit chaos to claim emergency powers, deploy the military domestically, and undermine free and fair elections.

These attacks must be viewed from this lens.
