Do you follow baseball? Do you not follow baseball? It does not matter. Please listen to Phillies announcer John Kruk, with the team up by ten runs and not much happening, talking about what he learned at the Franklin Institute. You will not be sorry.

I try really hard not to judge people‘s preferences and abilities. Just because I like reading books does mean everybody has to like reading books. Although that is what I want. But I’m just wondering if you don’t like books enough to have bought any why do you want them in your house?
"It’s never been easier to build an impressive-looking library, especially if you’re mostly interested in the colour and size of your books. Is this necessarily a bad thing?"

Yes. It says you're shallow, ignorant, too lazy to do anything about either, and too stupid to realise how obvious you are.

Digital photography and social media have turned the world into a cornucopia of boundless experiences. Museumgoers increasingly regard the work in art museums as an accoutrement to their existence, their world. All this old stuff lying about is only there to serve their self-absorption. Say cheese!

New Yorkers: If you haven't settled on your five candidates to rank for mayor, here's a simple metric to use:

Rank the guy who was wrongly arrested for attempting to protect an immigrant from ICE, and the four people running against him who showed up to demand his release.
In contrast, at least FOUR of Lander's other opponents in the mayoral race—Zohran Mamdani, Adrienne Adams, Scott Stringer, and Michael Blake—have showed up to support Lander at the site where he was arrested.

Unironically they should buy up the domains for about 60 defunct local newspapers in swing states. Hire two reporters to write almost exclusively about highschool sports and new restaurants opening with every 10th article about how the local GOP is screwing over people.

This writer just punched his career hard in the face, all for an article that he could have written in ten minutes simply by summarizing jacket copy.

(Also, given the "AI"-generated errors in other articles in the insert he produced, he's, shall we saying, overrepresenting how carefully he checks)
"'"I do use AI for background at times but always check out the material first. This time, I did not and I can't believe I missed it because it's so obvious. No excuses,'" Buscaglia said."
1)THIS IS NOT BACKGROUND! THIS IS MAKING UP ENTIRE BOOKS! WHICH ARE THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE ARTICLE!

This likely AI-hallucinated reading list is part of a ~60-page summer supplement, and in an initial spot-check, I'm having trouble confirming any of the quotes. But it's all such transparent filler that I can't help feeling sympathy for the lone freelancer apparently saddled with producing it.
This was just posted by @tbretc.bsky.social on another platform. The Chicago Sun-Times obviously gets ChatGPT to write a ‘summer reads’ feature almost entirely made up of real authors but completely fake books. What are we coming to?
