At the end of every episode of "The Carol Burnett Show," her guests sign a red autograph book. This episode alone has Bing Crosby, Ella Fitzgerald and Rowan & Martin. I imagine these books still exist¹, and they must be worth a small fortune.

Just finished watching "The Thursday Murder Club." Wow, it was just so ... so ... god-awful.
I haven't read the books, and I never will. They might be wonderful, and I enjoy Richard Osman on "The Rest Is Entertainment," but this movie has soured me on the source material.

Just finished watching "The Thursday Murder Club." Wow, it was just so ... so ... god-awful.

While working, I frequently come across bushes with edible-looking things. My wife is always encouraging me to try everything I see, including mushrooms. Berries and fungi are good for you, she exhorts. "Jesus, don't be a picky eater! Pick and eat!" I just might take her up on this health advice.

I wish I had hired a scale model, a la one of those unsung heroes, in a tintype photo, who poses with an oversized saw and the stump of a felled redwood, to stand next to the truck. It's absolutely tiny compared to the 4-wheeled sequoias of today. Too late now. Dat sun has set.
