When asked if there was anything "incriminating" in Epstein's emails, Trump pointed a finger in a female reporter's face and snapped. 'Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.'

I mean, look, I'm not a reporter, so who am I to talk?

But on a day where the president both just called a woman reporter "Piggy" and is celebrating someone who had people bone saw apart one of my colleagues, I might just be a little ready to defend my colleagues and profession.

But that's just me

Starbucks’ CEO makes 6,666x what the average @sbworkersunited.org barista does. It would take less than one day of sales to finalize a fair contract.

Baristas at Starbucks corporate stores nationwide are on strike to fight this corporate greed and get the fair contract they deserve.

Trump's super-power is that he simply refuses to acknowledge political wounds that would instantly kill anyone with a modicum of shame. Which has worked well enough for him that many people have fooled themselves into believing he isn't wounded at all. But he is! He always has been!

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

I'm really proud of this paper I wrote with my grad student proposing that children's racial biases are driven in part by racial differences in social status. Part of making the world a better place for children of color is ending racial inequity.
The Role of Social Status in the Development of Racial Bias in Childhood
Racial bias emerges early in a fairly consistent manner in the U.S. and in other societies in which group-based inequality is prevalent. Specifically, White children often show in-group preferences w....

In Chicago, four vehicles descended and eight ICE agents moved in to kidnap a child.

She screams, “I’m 15,” as ICE yanks her from the car and kneels on her neck.

This is not about immigration enforcement.

It's about terrorizing Americans.

lol gentle reminder that DEI is not illegal. Supporting marginalized groups is not illegal. Anyone reneging on support is making a CHOICE to do so.

Today was a sad day in Seattle journalism. As someone who read and followed Cascade PBS's work every day (for my job), they produced unique and compelling work week in and week out. This will be a big loss...
Today, I was laid off from Cascade PBS along with my entire team and most of the newsroom. I'll have more to say, but I have loved my time as news editor alongside some of the best journalists I have ever worked with. Every time a newsroom closes, stories go with it. The silence that follows is loud
The move, attributed to the loss of federal funding for public media, marks the layoffs of 17 staffers and the creation of three new positions.

I signed up for a gym and the contract said that they had the rights to my image “in perpetuity throughout the universe in any medium or format whatsoever now existing or hereafter created on any platform and for any purpose.” I was told that this was a standard contract 😳
I don’t know if we all realize it but almost every vendor contract — everything from HVAC repair to a hired event planner — gives you a contract full of rights to your image. Pictures of you, your house etc to be used in perpetuity. It’s a minor thing but also a symptom of how captured we all are.
