Seriously — audience research is one of my fave things that I do. Love this guide from @amandanat.bsky.social on how to execute it! ♥️

Also thanks for the s/o! 😍
There's something only great marketers do. But there's no agreed-upon standard for doing it.

It's audience research.

And very likely, they're doing this without really knowing what it is. Studying and getting to know their audience is just part of their DNA.

Just got my custom copy of "Superagency" — the new book by Reid Hoffman and my friend Greg Beato about AI's potential for positive impact.

It's not blind optimism about AI. Not doom and gloom either.

It's thoughtful, grounded in reality, and it boldly asks, "What could go right?"

If you follow one marketer on social, let it be Amanda...
Nobody wants your one-pager.

The prospect might *say* they want a one-pager.

But what they actually want is all the information to make a buying decision in the least amount of time & effort as possible.

Act accordingly.

I'm curious. When TikTok was down/unavailable Saturday night, how did you feel?

Even if you're against the ban, was a part of you relieved?

I used to log onto Twitter in the mornings and see people talking about a major brand’s latest ad campaign, skim through the latest viral marketing

Good one by @amandanat.bsky.social. I think events are in a good position to create smallish watercoolers. We've got the palpable good feeling from the event, but then it's gone. Why not find a way to keep it going?

But I've yet to see an event series or events org do it well & wonder why.
Amanda wrote a short blog post that I really liked, because it reminded me of the old days of blogging, when we'd share how we felt and what was going on, regardless of keywords or "business impact" or whatever blogs have become now.

You should read it, too. sparktoro.com/blog/the-dig...

NEW: sparktoro.com/blog/why-do-...

You've heard me and @amandanat.bsky.social talk a lot about moving from traffic-focused marketing to Zero-Click Marketing.

But why? This week's new 5-minute Whiteboard has the answers.

After the election, my burnout will go away.

After the holidays, my burnout will go away.

After these back-to-back illnesses, my burnout will go away.

After 2024, it'll be a new year!

After these LA wildfires... ???

I'm safe, I'm grateful. But man. Where's the light at the end of the tunnel?

I heard that if you need to abandon your car, you should leave the keys inside in case a first responder needs to move it.

So THAT explains why in the post-apocalyptic movies, the hero always conveniently finds the keys to the abandoned truck inside the visor.

My heart goes out to everyone affected by the LA fires. My family and I are fine. By a stroke of luck happen to be just outside of the affected areas.

Any time I hear of disasters like this, I update our go-bag. Flashlights, hand crank radio, snacks. So we're ready(ish).

Stay safe, friends!

It’s my birthday today! Here I am with my favorite rattle and stuffie.

Milestones:
- I cling to caregivers in new situations.
- I can drink from an open cup.
- I have tantrums very rarely.
- I know (most) shapes.
- I’m not a picky eater.

One thing I never outgrew since childhood is that I’ve always loved things that look like things they’re not supposed to look like. Mostly food.

Anyway here is my USB drive that looks like a watermelon slice and it is one of my most prized possessions.
