While playing with the LIDAR images in www.geoportail.gouv.fr from @ign.com I remembered that when I was a kid I used to walk in the forest up to the ruins of what we believed to be a motte-and-bailey castle. It is clearly visible here with its circular shape surrounded by ditches.

A successful laser communication over 300 million kilometers with speeds up to 1.8 Mbps ! This is something that really impress me !
I would like to know the technical details that made possible this achievement.
Is there a publication on this @esa.int ?

ESA wraps up 300-million-kilometre optical communication campaign
Over the summer, the European Space Agency ran an optical communication demonstration campaign using two observatories on Earth and NASA’s Psyche mission. All four optical links were successful.

The @vrubinobs.bsky.social has a seismometer inside the pier which is supporting the telescope. Out of curiosity I had a look at the data after the mag 8.8 earthquake that occurred in Kamchatka on July 29th and to my surprise I got the following !
