If you love physics/cosmology like me you should definitely pre-order this and I highly recommend her book Disordered Cosmos too!
"as the guide to the universe that we don’t deserve but absolutely need. She has given us a book about physics as story and metaphor, as revelation and revolution, as answer and antidote. It’s suffused with gorgeous poetry and frequently very, very funny.” -- THE Ed Yong

In Hindu cosmology, the primary role of Lord Shiva is to destroy the impure universe so that it can be reborn. This is reflected in Final Fantasy XVI's Jill, the Dominant of Shiva, who helps Clive to destroy the harmful Mothercrystals so they can rebuild a better world for all.

"The paper is likely to be greeted with heavy scepticism, but with the influential DESI consortium independently reaching a similar conclusion earlier this year, a fierce debate is opening up in cosmology over the nature of dark energy and the probable fate of the universe."

there's a sort of cosmology latent in the thing which is far more coherent than KQ ever bothered being. the main quest takes you through a bunch of planes based loosely but non-restrictively on aristotelian elements, disordered vaguely by the antagonist

If these findings are correct, our understanding of dark energy, and by extension of the universe as a whole, are significantly off the mark.

The next few years are gonna be really big in cosmology! 🔭🧪

Six decades of black-hole physics built on sand.
The fallacy: mistaking inevitability for actuality, ignoring GR’s most basic rule.

What if black holes never actually form?
For the better part of a century, physicists have treated the inevitable collapse of stars as proof that black holes already exist. But inevitability is not actuality—and confusing the two has prod…

Now, THIS is a cosmogram (Aztec, Cdx Fej-Mayer). But I still maintain that there is no evidence - outside the minds of scholars - that ancient Mesoamericans built buildings or cities as cosmograms. Smith ME (2003) "Can We Read Cosmology in Ancient Maya City Plans? Comment on Ashmore and Sabloff"

Jaider Esbell (1979-2021) was an indigenous person of the Makuxi ethnicity (also spelled Macuxi), from the state of Roraima, in Brazil.

He was a central figure in contemporary indigenous art, using his paintings and texts to express the cosmology of his people and to advocate for indigenous causes.

For the record, my answers are:

Probably, in some form, somewhere in the cosmos, since it’d be weird if Earth were THAT special. They probably haven’t visited though.

Yes, we can see it pretty directly! (More on this in next.)

There are surely some limits to our knowledge but we do know a lot.
yes darth but it is not the #1 question. the top three questions are:

are aliens real
did the big bang really happen
isn’t that stuff all just unknowable

I was making scandalous faces while my astro101 students are working on lab and they are like, "what is it?!" and I'm like "well, I guess I have to update my notes for a few weeks from now."

Cosmology is starting to rival planetary science for making me update my lectures more frequently...

again, the big bang being a white hole that inherited it's parent black hole's angular momentum - causing the universe to slowly rotate - fits so many of our observations and solves one of the major issues in current cosmology
