More spinning to keep me knitting through the winter…

Sometimes you just have to find one thing that makes you smile…today, this is that one thing.. I’m in love with this yarn spun from Hello Yarn Raven’s Wing fiber from my August subscription shipment. I loved the deep moody colors as I was spinning it and today the finished yarn makes me happy.

Another supported spindle! A productive fidget!

Spun up this Raven’s wing Bluefaced Leicester wool top from Hello Yarn over the weekend on my Schacht flat iron wheel. It’s so soft and squishy! Might be my favorite spin yet!

2 oz of Falkland wool spun up…I’ll finish the other half and create a 2 ply. Will probably be fingering or sport when all is said and done. #helloyarn #besotted #eew6.1 #spinningwool #fiberjoy

Attempting to learn how to spin wool on a Russian spindle. I think I’m starting to catch on but there is a lot more to learn.

Fall is my favorite season…I love waking up and enjoying a latte under a cozy blanket with my pups. Rest and relajado are importante especially in these days of democracy under fire. Watching @laurakampf.bsky.social live as she talks about being a creative. Is this a path I want to traverse?

Refurbishing this beautiful Singer 27 treadle sewing machine built in 1899. This is a reminder of the women who came before me who contributed to the world around them. A reminder of the women who were not allowed to leave their abusive spouses, have bank accounts, or vote. #NeverGoingBack

Been getting some knitting in so I have some new fall sweaters.. have 3 more sweaters that are nearly complete. 😁 given the level of inflation this is really helping me out. Thank goodness for the stash! 🧶

Pumpkin Spice season is upon us so what better than a pumpkin spice quilt? In today’s world I’m looking for any bit of joy I can find. I hope these blocks bring you joy! #joansews pattern #pumpkinspice

I'm hearing "political violence has no place in America" from people who were more than OK with what happened on Jan 6, 2021.

#tourdefleece2025 Day #3 my only commitment is five minutes a day to reduce stress. Love this little spindle for on the go spinning.

I have no words because I still feel all the lies Bush told us before he started the war in Iraq. Therefore I give an unrelated picture with hopes that you will seek out truth and take breaks for self care. Even in darkness we can find light…we just have to look harder.

Did a mini quilt-a-long a couple weeks ago. I’m starting to get an itch to spin again but for now quilting helps me miss my grandmother a little less. I can’t imagine what she’d think of the world today. She was lucky to graduate college as a librarian when most women didn’t get the opportunity.

The world has been too much and I’ve needed time to refresh so I can return strong. Quilting has cleared my head and given me space to support those around me. Needing time doesn’t mean we’ve given up or stopped speaking it means we are preparing for the next battle.

How many train wrecks do we have to survive before we pull our heads out of our collective asses and let women run this country?

They called it from day one.

Not getting much attention, but the Senate GOP is about to start voting - to make sure banks can charge higher overdraft fees. Seriously.

Good time to let your Senators know what you think of that.

Tonight I cut 3 quilt blocks…ready to be sewn tomorrow. Taking a class to learn something new helps me sit my brain down for a little while and in this day and age I need to appreciate those moments. Tomorrow it’s back to the fight against fascism.

This is what the rest of the Dena should have been doing! Everyone should have one by one taken Green’s place speaking out. When someone was escorted out border should have stood to take their place.
Rep Al green did what I've been begging of Democrats and that is he punched Trump in the face! The interruption knocked Trump off his speech and stole headlines from Trump. We need MUCH MORE!!!
Rep Al Green after being removed from Trump speech: "I'll accept the punishment. It's worth it to let people know that there's some of us who are going to stand up" against Trump and his anti-American agenda. And Green added Trump is convicted felon! This is what courage looks like!
