Anybody got archive copies of the Mail, Telegraph, Sun, Express, BBC and Sky News outrage about the 672 prisoners released in error between March 2013-March 2023 and the 115 in the Tories last year in office, they must be out there somewhere.

Absolutely what was planned. Everyone saying Brexit wasn’t done properly wants to return the workers to the Victorian era. No rights, no healthcare, no pensions, no votes, just do what your “betters” tell you.
Always remember that Tories/Reform wanted Brexit so that they could ignore rules that everyone else followed. A race to the bottom. Deregulation. A bonfire of *our* rights and protections. Exploitation and consumer risk so that the wealthy and the powerful could grab more wealth and more power.

There is - its the constant hot rhetoric of blaming 'other' people for everything that is currently besetting the country - lwhich are the effects of austerity, the political criminality of Johnson, the madness that is Brexit, and the lack of interest in taxing those with the broadest shoulders.

'Something going wrong with society', says Badenoch

Kemi Badenoch said there was "clearly something going wrong with our society", following the stabbings on a train near Huntingdon.

But it's okay, because he's not seeking a third term.

Yeah, everyone knows that Musk would have taken the One Ring for himself right? A new Dark Lord of Mordor with batteries included.
The "hard-men" of Gondor were getting their shit kicked in until they were rescued by foreigners and a girl.

The Shire was doing fine until they let a fascist demagogue ("Sharkey" aka Saruman) take over, close the gates, impose a bunch of thug-enforced rules, and despoil nature for profit.

Not even what it was nine years ago.
And with 53% of respondents in the British Social Attitudes survey recording themselves as “no religion”, it’s hard to argue that we are a Christian country. The country is what it is now; not what it was 100 years ago.

The challenge is the swathes of middle England who can’t recognise subliminal racism within themselves. They live in white British communities and the lack of diversity means that any issue of race creates a feeling of unease that Reform exploits. “I’m not racist but….”
Given the party's refusal to act on Pochin's brazen racism, it should be as socially unacceptable to vote for Reform as it was in the early 2000s to vote for the BNP.

And we should be prepared to say this to people's faces.

Voters knew what to do to stop Reform. Unusually for a by-election, turnout surged to > 50% up from 44% in 2021.

This is terrible for Labour though & smashes the campaign phrase that “Only Labour can stop Reform”.

They now need 2 oppo votes to pass Senedd Bills.
Caerphilly, Senedd constituency by-election result:

PC: 47.4% (+19.0)
REF: 36.0% (+34.2)
LAB: 11.0% (-34.9)
CON: 2.0% (-15.3)
GRN: 1.5% (+1.5)
LDEM: 1.5% (-1.2)
GWL: 0.3% (+0.3)
UKIP: 0.2% (+0.2)

Plaid Cymru GAIN from Labour.

We're facing a political emergency: a high likelihood of an shamelessly authoritarian government in 2029. So we urgently need this basic safeguard: a codified constitution.
This week's column explains what we're missing and why it's so important.

We must act now: without a written constitution, Reform UK will have carte blanche to toxify our nation | Goerge Monbiot
It means breaking with hundreds of years of tradition, but it can’t wait. As hard-right figures spread division and laud autocrats, a fail-safe is vital, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

The policy can accurately be described as "more Idi Amin than Margaret Thatcher" since no democratic gvt has done anything comparable to remove legal settled migrants since

Powell, even Monday Club, even BNP promoted *voluntary* repatriation in 1971 & 1981

Next to nobody suggested this in 2016-19
