Valid point and the leveraging of such in maintaining existing structures of e.g. land ownership or the commodification of nature.
Surprised how little is written on the connections between Romanticism & rewilding

Romantic artists depicted nature to be untamed, powerful & unpredictable

Indeed the Romantic legacy in N Europe counters some rewilder arguments that traditionally we preferred nature as tidy & organised

A healthy ecosystem requires a wide range of species interactions

Focussing only on, eg, pollination or predation, will not hep ecosystem-level conservation

Brilliant!
Good news - it should trip community land ownership to over 3% of Scotland's land area - the communities along the Isle of Harris east coast villages, Northton in the west & the Isle of Berneray have secured community land trust funding.

"Scotland’s aristocratic families do not cling to their massive estates only because of income but because of the influence it confers – to them, and their children, and their children’s children. It is about controlling Scotland’s future in the way they control so much of its present."
Land is power – Scotland’s people have none
Land isn't just about wealth and justice, it's about power. Scotland is cut off from its own land resources and hence is poorer as a nation

COP30 overpromised, underdelivered, empowered distractions, backtracked on issues and once again gave big oil and big ag a free pass.

Unfortunately, the suspicions of climate scientists (here in Brazil and abroad) were confirmed again.

Novel ecosystems are those which have been significantly altered by human activity, even containing non-natives

They are controversial, with debate about whether we should accept them or seek to ‘restore’ ‘native’ ecosystems

Here @lmacfarlane.bsky.social gives evidence at the Net Zero, Energy & Transport Committee on why it needs significant amendments.

Yet again seen a paper in a high impact journal which does not cite highly relevant literature

This shows that any paper is a work created by the authors whose findings must be assessed alongside the rest of the literature

and that no single paper alone should be used to support an argument
