Environment, books, and legal stuff are my thing. Mid-life JD and dang proud. It’s never too late. Unless you’re dead, but even then …who knows? (lettertoalison at the old place)

while I’m being cranky, access journalism needs to go. When the president does his “I’m alpha because I insulted you” thing somebody needs to fall on his sword and say “what the fuck is wrong with you, old man?” on a hot mic. the hero of the wizard of Oz is Toto.

It occurs to me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, that what is happening with the ultra rich oppressing and exploiting everyone else is a mirror of what humans have done to the earth.

This person has a much different experience with exercise, I think.
A thought: maybe if it feels like work it isn’t the best self care at that moment. Maybe it is only a thing you’ve been conditioned to think you should do for yourself. Maybe real self care always feels good and right, and doesn’t ever feel like work.

Love this.
It would be a shopping experience free from the ecological harm done by traditional grocery stores with their plastic-wrapped produce and countless brands of processed snacks delivered by long lines of carbon-spewing trucks. 🫘

Solar’s price drop is astonishing: panels are now 98% cheaper than when I first analyzed them in 2004.

Today, building a fence with solar can be cheaper than using wood.

Dang. Love my Kia Niro EV and would have loved this price, too. If you’re shopping for an EV, go go go!
(Or if you need an inexpensive used minivan and live in New England, I’m selling one!)

I'm trying to use Bluesky to sell tickets to my comedy special taping. Don't make me promote on Twitter. I'd rather have an empty house. But it'd be so much nicer if it were full.

Advice to Youths:

At 30 - Knowing no Japanese, I quit my job and moved to Japan.

At 40 - Started working in comics, a medium I loved. I now have 2 Eisner Awards.

At 50 - Took up fencing, having never done a sport. I now have 2 silver medals.

Things are so mean-spirited right now, this made me tear up. In the gratuitously cruel age of Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, and Mike Johnson, it's comforting to be reminded that there still are decent human beings that walk amongst us. Thank you, Heretic Coffee in Portland.
