Call for (post-PhD) historians and cultural scholars for the pod! We have a specific wishlist of scholarship we’re looking to add to the lineup:
- ancient & medieval history
and/or
- histories of anywhere other than the US and UK, preferably outside Europe

So cool! I missed the unveiling by a few days, but I got to see the preliminary sketches on my visit
Thrilled that the story of Lela Harris’s stunning portrait of Miss Lambe from #Sanditon has made it to the BBC news. You can read more about her incredible work and how my research on the Lady’s Magazine, fashion plates and Austen intersect with it here: www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Is my carpal tunnel flaring up from end-of-semester grading, or from scrolling while procrastinating end-of-semester grading? Hard to say.

I will be using this analogy in my attempts to head off AI-generated assignments.
Even accepting the premise that AI produces useful writing (which no one should), using AI in education is like using a forklift at the gym. The weights do not actually need to be moved from place to place. That is not the work. The work is what happens within you.
