I've said it a lot lately: the problem with nonconsensual deepfake porn of adults isn't the "porn" part, it's the "nonconsensual" part. That HAS to be accounted for when regulating, otherwise you're just banning legal porn, which is (1) unconstitutional but (2) what the Heritage Foundation wants.

Sexual expression is censored because it's powerful.
Porn and erotica are important and societally valuable forms of speech, and the defense of them, in the face of state and church attempts at repression, is a necessary political act.

FYI for adult creators/businesses: today's decision blocking parts of Florida's HB3 ONLY applies to the provisions restricting minors' use of social media. It does not apply to the part of the law that mandates age verification on adult sites (despite the fact that it is just as unconstitutional).

It's a shame that Governor Katie Hobbs decided to ignore over 700 Arizonans who called and emailed her in the past week to encourage a veto of HB 2112. Now Arizonans will be forced to share sensitive data in order to view content they have a right to see.

We just heard an "age verification" bill in Montana, and the argument for how it would work was exactly as @evangreer.bsky.social describes—anytime you want to access social media (or an online forum), you would have to scan your face & Artificial Intelligence would guess your age.
